THE SELFISHNESS OF TIME

You are absent when you're a student.
Yes!.. you're growing, you're studying.
Yes! ... you're in school, where else should you be?

You are absent when you're a graduate
Yes!..... life's pressure seems to be kicking in
Born from the need to be independent
yes!.... the realization is okay, what else should you think about?

You are absent when you're  a working class
Yes!.... You gotta make money! you got NEEDS and you now belong to a class.
Yes!.... the class has demands and duties, what else are you expected to do?

You are absent when you're a son and need to  fit the shoes your dad once filled.
Yes!.... it's crazy. you need money. so you work and to work is to stay away.
Yes!... it's a worthy sacrifice. Afterall your parents are enjoying the money now. Has there ever been a worthier sacrifice?

You are absent when you're a Fiance(e)
Yes!...... gotta hustle to keep the relationship balling. Gotta provide and life is tuff.
Yes!... it's important and so are finances. What else are you required to strive for?

You are absent as a Dad and the single excuse seems to be the fact that “it's for the greater good!”
Yes!...... You can now provide and there's no LACK.
Yes!.... doesn't that make you the most thoughtful parent?

Yet Time so cherished slowly steals our presence from our beloveds.
Yes!..... it's okay to ask the reasons for why we spend such time.
Yes!...... it's okay to question if the priorities weren't misplaced.

Because when it's all said and done,
It's only those in whose lives we were absent, that will remain.
And when we part by distance or death.
No amount of time can gift them back to us.
No amount of reason can account for the time lost.
so stay in the moment and love every bit of it.
